i have someone asking if i can have 3 children for 1 day i usually have 2 boys on a friday. 1 boys mum has said (as shes not working at the moment) that she will keep her son at home on friday so i can have space for the temp children (and not pay me for that day) where do i stand with contracts and my numbers etc

bit confused and need to call the parent of the temp children asap. thanks

Does this mean you'd have 4 under5's at the same time? Have you any under 5's of your own as well?

ok i've realised i cant have the older 2 as i can only have 5 at any one time and i already have my ft mindee (aged 3) my baby (9mths) and my older dd who's 7. (and would usually have my pt mindee but his mum is keeping him home that day so does he count in my numbers? or if he's not here then he doesnt count im confused)

If he's not at yours then he doesn't count in your numbers. What numbers does it give on your certificate?

he said he is going to try to get the older 2 into the kids club (as they usually go in the morning) i suppose if he only has to try and get one in he might have a chance.

What ratios? Is it two under 5's and 3 over 5's?

Report
LoveMyGirls · 21/06/2006 12:39

it says to care for 3 children aged 1-8 (as i already have my own under 1 says of these no more than 2 may be under 5 (so aged between 1 and 5)

its confusing i think.

so
under 1 = mine
3yr old = Temp mindee (for 1 day) (instead of pt mindee who is staying at home that day)
3yr old = FT mindee

5yr old = temp mindee (for 1 day)
6yr old = mine

Think you've got it right there. Tis confusing, I need to inform OFSTED that my own children have now freed an under 5 and under eight place, one part of me says don't do it and give my excisting mindees more of my time, the other part keeps saying more for them to play with LOL.

no harn in telling them then they can ammend it and if you get an equiry you can take it without worrying about paperwork/ legallities

Think they will ammend it so that you have 3 under 5's (including your own), just a little query but did they say that your 7 old counts in your numbers because I was told that mine DD aged 7 wasn't (on my certificate states 2 under 5's and 2 over 5's).

W2ill deffo get the ammendment done as mindees mum has been asking if I will have room for a baby! Having said that at the moment iu could fill all my spaces but i don't quite know how I would manage a 22month old, a 26 month old an a 8 month old all at the same time! Not bad considering at Easter I felt like giving up as I hadn't got any work - have also got to turn down another mindee in September who's mum is begging me to have!

Just quickie - mental afternoon! They should change it so it still says 2 but 0-5 instead of 1-5.

All certificates these days (well, in last year at least - I've been told - but we all get told different) should tell you how many MINDEES you're allowed.

I have one ds ages 3.3. My cert says:

I'm allowed 3 mindees under 8 (not big house), 2 can be under 5, 1 between 5-8.

So, you're allowed 2 under 5 and 1 over. You wouldn't have part timer that day so you're allowed:

1 more 1-5
1 over 5

I think that's right anyway.

Hope I haven't confused you more

Hi

Just to add a little bit more confusion - when Ofsted lady came to do a variation on my numbers she told me that my own children didn't come into the numbers that i am registered for!!

Rockstar when DD was 4 my number on my cert would be 1 under 1, total of 2 under 5 and 5 under 8

when she was 5 it was 1 under 1, total of 3 under 5 and 5 under 8

Now she is 8 it is 1 under 1, 3 under 5, 6 under 8

hth
