childcare arrangements - mixture of nanny and cm - would it work?

we have a nanny - she does cooking for us as well and looks after DC. While she is cooking dinner, I thought to give DD2 ( 19 months) to the CM for 2- mornings just to socialise with other kids. Nanny does take DD2 to the parks but as the weather gets colder, this might be limited now and I thought to give DD2 to CM who has kids to provide a social aspect for DD2 ( or example 3 mornings for 3 hours?). this way, nanny woul have the protected time to cook dinner and do some bits in the house and DD2 would have quality time with other children at CM. WOuld this work? please share your ideas. thank you.

Even in London a weekly bus pass is about £20.

£80 seems a bit steep. A weekly pass probably is not needed, don't have to do something every day. Pay per trip.

How much would nursery be and how would they get there, there will be costs for everything.

I don't see anywhere Goodwebsite mentioned a lack of English, did I miss that or is that perhaps not an issue here. Indeed do we even know if Goodwebsite is in the UK? Guess someone may have looked up their other posts to determine location.

Does sound like this nanny is no longer ideal for the job, as children get older their needs change, so a change of nanny may be the thing to consider.

Ah i see it, yesterday they said the nanny was not English, though didn't say specifically that they could not speak some, understand some of the language.

These days many languages get spoken at toddler groups, especially if in an area with lots of nationalities living in the area.

she speak the language I want my kids to speak. the bus pass costs 80 per month, sorry not week ( I made a mistake). I now coming to thinking that she shoudl take kids 2-3 times a week on a bus to drop DD1 to school and the rest of mornings my father will do. Will try to involve het into toddler groups. I realie that probably the set up I arranged is not good. I need to review and consider perhaps au pair in the future?

I don't think an au pair is going to sort you out unless you go for CM and need the wraparound care? You'll hit the same language barrier, doesn't drive, not able to cook and look after DC at the same time (often).....

Bilingualism isn't the be all and end all - language should be a secondary consideration to a childcarer actually being able to care for and develop your children.

I think now is the time to look for a CM who can do pick up/drop off and have your 19mo too.

thank you - it is so revealing for me - our present set up causes me a lot of doubts that is why your comments are extremely helpful. as I mentioned 80 pounds is a monthly cost of bus pass ( 19.60 per week) in the UK. Another childcare option woudl be my mum who would not be able to do everything but wrap around she coudl manage + CM how would this work what do you think please? I will need to get a new set up and give notice to the present person.
