I often see nannies here discussing annual reassessment's of their pay, often having little payrises each year.

Is this standard practice, would a first time employer think about this?

Im coming up to 1 yr with this family and as far as I can see they are getting a really good deal financially with me. Though childcare is just expensive no matter what when you're paying it isn't it lol!

I like this family and am by no means expecting one but it would be a nice surprise, especially as they aren't the type to verbally praise. .it would feel like a bit of a confidence boost knowing they are happy enough with me to offer me a small payrise.

Guess depends what your contract says

Pay review or Payrise

Pay review - can discuss - may say can't afford it / fair enough

Mine says Payrise in due with inflation with think is 3%

Friend had Payrise and they offered another £2.50 a week - over a 55hr week - 4p an hour Shock tho tbf it was still a Payrise

If it is a good job then if you didn't have a Payrise would you still stay? Jobs are rarer now compared to nanny market say 5yrs ago and may employers don't get pay rises so they can't afford to give the nanny one

No I wouldn't leave..far too grateful for my job..just genuine curiosity. I am pretty certain they can't afford to as they have alot on right now, but im not even making £8 net, so feel a year in it would be nice to have a little extra. I have been offered another job with more money, but i would prefer to stay with a family as long as possible. I am a btwm. x
