I'm a little confused about a situation I've got myself into.

I've agreed to take a baby from Sept full time

The youngest I have is 14months. I have her weds Thurs fri

I have three year old that I expect to leave in sept thought they haven't give notice, here three half days.weds Thurs fri

I have another 2 year old on Thursday and Friday.

Will I be overminding?

Thanks I have another baby coming in Jan. I thought that she would be one in Jan but it seems that she would take be one till April. I'll be overminding then work to I?

So can you tell me if I am overminding and how I can prevent it without cancelling.

Can I have a work experience student for the days I'm overbooked, the local college runs a childcare course and I wondered if I could reasonably use one of them....on a quid products quo basis.

Otherwise, should I employ someone for three days? Bearing in mind that these costs will cancel out my charges since I only charge 3.30 per hour?

Yes you will be over numbers. Check with Ofsted how long it takes to add on an assistant. You may need to pay for their DBS check (I just had a letter through saying they will be charging for this). So all in all depending how much it may all cost it may well not be worth it.
Tbh if I was in your shoes I would ask the family who you're saying may be leaving in September what their plans are. I would just say I had an enquiry for September and wondered what their plans are ...

You would be over numbers but as long as only by 1 and you can prove to ofsted that you are still meeting eyfs then may not be a problem. In the past you applied for dispensation now you make up your own mind.

You can't do that for new business though - only for continuity of care, so an existing child changing or adding days, or a new sibling of an existing child. In your position I would check the situation with the 3 year old - if they are about to leave then maybe finish her earlier or delay the start of the new one.
For the baby starting in January, you currently only have space for her Mon, Tues, Weds. If you started like that for a while, then they added on Thursday and Friday I think that would count as continuity of care.
