I had him for 3 months and he is really fussy...I pride myself doing nice meals for the children in my care but he doesn't eat anything. He likes cheese, doesn't like veg, doesn't like fruits. It really starts to stress me out as I was never in this situation :-( On friday, he looked at the plate, decided he didn't like it , almost threw it on the floor (I caught it on time)...Please help me ! He is 3 and he is like that at home as well.

I have a fruit and veg hater. ou've probably realised by now that it's definitely not a case of serving them up the proper food and they will eat it. Even seeing the food can be alarming for them.

If it's just the vegetables, then don't put them on his plate. If you turn a mealtime into a fight then it's going to be counter-productive and might create a bigger aversion in the long run.

If you were child minding for me, I'd only ask that he didn't leave your care hungry. I wouldn't be expecting you to solve his eating problems for him.

My veg hater, who has huge sensory problems with food textures, has just recently started eating pasta in tomato sauce, btw. It's not just the veg he's had struggles with, but pasta, rice, potatoes that aren't browned and crisped have all been incredibly uncomfortable for him to eat, too. It's taken some time, though. He's 7.

We also discovered, a few years ago, that whilst he can't eat raw fruit, he's rather fond of cooked fruit based puddings. Even with really strong blackcurrants or rhubarb in them!
