Nanny Tax Code - 3 families 3 way split

glitternanny · 31/07/2013 17:52

I'm potentially changing my days around so I work for 3 different families (no shares/overlap)

Does anyone know if it possible to split my tax code 3 ways?

Thanks

Have you tried calling a nanny payroll company? They may be able to tell you if splitting between 3 jobs is possible.

If the salary in 2 jobs combined is more than your personal tax allowance, then I expect the 3rd job would be done at basic rate tax.

Could you agree a gross salary in each job, that may make things a bit easier. Are any of the jobs paying 10,000 or more, if so then could that job just use all the tax allowance?

Reading HMRC: Check Multiple Codes, Sharing Your Personal Allowance it says you can choose to split your tax between more than one job. However it does not say how many jobs you can do that across.

Would you really need to split between all 3 jobs? Would say two of the jobs not pay in total above your personal tax allowance? Then the split could be done between those two, leaving the third job to use BR coding.

Have you agreed a gross salary for each job?

I think you should just agree a gross salary (nearly every job outside nannying is like this) - it shouldn't really matter which job the personal allowance is attached to if you do that

if you agree a gross salary then no need to spilt tax codes
