Hi pol26

I am sure if you just explain that as you are now pg you are feeling really tired etc and want to spend time with dd before baby arrives they will understand. At the end of the day you are self employed and it's your decision when you give up work.I know lots of women who go out to work and they give up fairly early on too.
I am also pg and i am due 23rd July and not due to give up till 14th July because it's one of my friends who will take over one of my families. It does mean a whole 6 months paid leave after tho,but i am tired too looking after mindees and dd whos 22 months.

After much consideration I regret to advise you that I will no longer be able to care for [mindee] from [date] as I will be taking maternity leave.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, however I trust you will agree that it is better all round if my maternity leave commences before there is any possibility of the quality of service being compromised.

[if applicable]
I would be delighted to welcome [mindie] back at the end of my maternity leave, please do let me know whether you require me to hold a place for your return.

Kind Regards,

If you are at 30 weeks I am sure they will be expecting you to take maternity leave soon anyway. I couldn't even push the hoover round when I was preggers & I'm knackered enough with childminding in a non-pregnant condition! I hope the mum understands, i'm sure she wouldn't want you going into labour with her kiddie in your care either.

Thank you ladies!
Just feel with the heat (!) and I know i'd moan if I were cold too I just can't go on taking trips in the car too and from his pre school and going out and about with him all the time- DD is enough.
Plus I would like to spend some 'nice' time with DD before bubba two arrives and her whole world changes!
Thanks
