Unsuitable clients! Childminder in Crouch End

I am leaving my job at the end of June to become a childminder - I have registered with Ofsted and done the first aid courses etc and have my own 2 year old daughter. The only people contacting me so far are looking for just half a day a week, or childcare on an ad hoc basis. However I really need to find a full term or def. part time placement to meet bills etc. I was wondering if anyone wanted to set up a referral network where we could take each other's details and pass on clients that are not suitable for us to each other to help in times of need to fill places! What do you think?

Just in case it helps, I'll bump up my advertising tips thread - may give you some more ideas to help! :)

Don't worry Wink a 'thread' is basically a discussion. Think you've seen it now :)

BTW, I was told I couldn't advertise until I was actually registered so be careful about this. Word of mouth etc. is fine but I THINK you could get into trouble if advertising unregsitered. Just thought I'd let you know.

I got told that aswell, (about not advertising before registration) not sure of the reasons why or consequences if you do though.

Meant to say, it's a good idea about the referal network but you might be better setting it up locally at toddler group/drop-ins etc. I think we're all a bit spread out on here. Where about are you?

Yes Im sure I was told that. Isnt it because you have to say on advert that you are registered whereas in fact at that time you're not in theory so your giving the wrong impression to potential customers. I suppose OFSTED can always decide at the last minute that youre not suitable and you will have to let people down.
