Hi there I'm seeing 2 childminders this week to discuss looking after my 3 kids (1 at school, 1 at preschool and a toddler), they were both 'chosen' as they do school / preschool runs!! I'm visiting them at their homes and wondered if there are any specific questions I should be asking relating to their experience, qualifications etc - and guidance welcomed thank you!!
Also is there a good way o broach this subject with my kids - the older 2 will understand to a degree and obviously I want them to be happy with the new arrangements.

How many children do you cm and their ages?
As mentioned bulk discount
What is your daily routine?
What is your Ofsted grading?
Ask to look at their Ofsted registration cert and insurance too
What training have you had?
What is your policy on behaviour management?
Do you charge for bank hols (some do if they do not even work them)
Have you any kids of your own?
Are you a smoking or non smoking house hold
Any pets?
How long have you been childminding?
What are you sleeping arrangements for little ones
Do you do a school run and which one

Hope that help Smile

How many children do you care for? I know one cm who looks like the pied piper during the school holidays. She can't do trips or anything unless some of her kids go in another cms car.

Ask for an opportunity to spend some time with her and watch her in action

Ask if she goes to any groups and if she does any outings in the holidays

Ask if you can speak to any of the other parents directly

Ask for ofsted report

Plus all of above
