Morton's Neuroma

I've been in agony, it started suddenly on Sun evening, I've been to the doctors today.

Just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to go away? How did you manage work?

TIA

I'm a cm and dh had it. It doesn't just go away. He first had steroid injections which didn't work and then had an op for the nerve to be snipped.

Off work (Copper) for 8 weeks.

Now he's getting it in the other foot, very common apparently.

Sorry you have it.

Oh god I can't have time off work like thjat I'll have no business left Sad

I've got a few minor aliments and they are building up so I'm in lots of pain and the pain killers they have given me are useless Sad

I've got carpel tunnel in both wrists, housemaids knee and backache which I'm about to start physio for and I've pulled a muscle in my neck.

I'm 4 weeks away from having 2 weeks off, I need to just manage the pain until then, I really can't afford any time off.

Hi there, not a cm but a TA, I was diagnosed with this a couple of years ago.

I had had long history of probs with feet, eg plantar fascitis amongst others, so was already wearing flat shoes etc.

Doc promptly told me that my shoes were too flat (!) and that I must change all footwear so it was flat but with thick supportive sole, e.g. dr martens, hotter shoes(Sexy)

Also told me to get rid of anything pointy while I was at it. I had thought I was ok with ballet flats but apparently they were too thin, too pointy and not supportive.

Mine did go away by itself after about 6 months after I took all this advice so maybe this might help you?

Thanks, I tend to wear sketchers (pumps and I've got trainers) which I think are quite good and very very rarely wear heels and if I do they are wide ones from next or new look, I was wearing my boots quite a bit but they haven;t got a particularly high heel.

Anyone have any more advice?

I'm hobbling around because pressure really hurts (like being stabbed if I try and walk normally) and it's hurting the rest of me from walking funny, I can't believe I went from being fine to being like this in a matter of 24hrs Sad

Sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly. I have problems with my feet and wear fitflops most of the time. They have a huge range of styles and some which look very similar to the shoes you picked out. I get mine from Shoetique online (next day delivery). If you are interested I will have a ferret about and see if I can find any promotions or vouchers you could use.

Thanks I'm feeling confused this morning, I don't understand how changing shoes and rest and painkillers will get rid of the problem, I can see how they could make life a little bit more comfortable. I feel like they are just expecting me to live life like this, I just can't, it hurts to walk/ drive etc I've got 8 dc's today (and most days) I cried yesterday (I never cry) because I feel like they are expecting me to just stay in pain.

I can't afford not to work, I can't work properly like this. Sad
