Childminder wedding cover

Hi guys
Just been approached by a hotel 30-40 min drive away and they are looking for child care for Saturday night to look after a 6, 7 and 11 year old for a wedding. They don't know end time but think around 1am. Would you do it and if so how much would you charge rates around here for childminding is £5 ph for daytime hours

I wouldn't be safe to drive at 1 am. I'd want a hotel room to crash in!

When would you start? Would it all be in the room or would you be expected to be at the reception as well? 6 - 11 is a range of ages, would be a nightmare if they were all coming to bed at different times.

I paid £8 ph for a babysitter in a hotel, but I put the children to bed and we only had her till 11pm.

I'd charge normal babysitting rate, which here is £10ph, plus a bit extra (maybe £20) for the travel time and travel costs.

I paid £11 per hour for a nanny to come to our wedding venue 7pm-midnight. We settled babies around 8pm and older pair about 10pm. She was only expected to mind them in one bedroom. Hope it goes well.

Yes I do this kind of work a lot

Many weddings don't want children in evening as they get grumpy and tired and also means parents can't relax and enjoy

To keep your insurance valid you need to be in the room at all times with the children - you can't leave them alone so if a problem then call hotel reception if cant get hold of parents

Hotel sits I normally charge £12ph as of the inconvenience - esp if younger children or may need you to sit in the dark and quiet or their chil wakes .........

I normally get a plate of food sent up to the room via a waiter as obv I can't leave the room

Tho normally once children are asleep I can turn tv or lights on dim with most children

Some hotel ones do adjoining rooms or suites which are good for older children

But yes I would do it and happily drive home at 1am - why on earth would The parents want to fork out for another room for the nanny to stay and mamma what do you mean won't be safe? As in too tired? Sure walking to car in hotels grounds would be fine and if worried again sure a member of staff would escort back to car
