Hi

I am still looking at different possibilities of me having my DD with me whilst at work and someone suggested me childminding.

I would love to but i dont think i would be allowed, due to me living in a small flat. its a one bed with open plan kitchen/living area.
It is ground floor with some stairs leading to it. I dont have a garden but there is a lovely park behind where i live where i could take the children. There are also a few play groups around and a library.

Has anyone childmind from a small flat or does anyone use a childminder with a small flat?

please help : )

thanks

ofsted don't have a problem with this as long as you take the children out and about. It may put some parents off but not all and it may restrict your numbers. When I started I was living in a small flat and it didn't effect me finding children. Good Luck.

When I was looking for a CM, I saw one who lived in a small flat. It was v neat and tidy and she seemed good. Her numbers were restricted, think she could only have have two under-fives, one of whom was her own dc, but she had a couple of after-school mindees too. I was put off a bit because her flat was on a higher floor and there was no lift, but I don't think I'd have had so much of a problem with ground floor.

I started minding from a flat,ok wasn't small but it was up a lot of stairs and didn't have a garden so can't see why it should be a problem so long as you show that you will take mindee's out every day and risk assess stairs etc
