Childcare options for under 1YO taking Childcare vouchers?

Does anyone know if there's any point in getting some Childcare vouchers for the first year? This is our first and not here yet so not sure what Childcare options are suitable let alone who takes vouchers! But have to make a decision to day due to annual voucher scheme deadline or we'll miss out.

I will most likely be main carer while my partner works in the first year, so likely use of Childcare would be for keeping in touch days, occasional babysitting or few hours daytime Childcare especially if partner away.

Any thoughts tips or advice welcome.

for a child under a year, a single carer is the best option - either a nanny or a registered childminder. I don't know about nannies but I know as a childminder I have taken childcare vouchers in the past, I don't have a problem with it as long as I am paid on time!

Nannies can accept childcare vouchers as long as they're Ofsted registered. I'm not sure whether it would be worth the paperwork etc for a few hours babysitting though.

I'm pretty sure childcare vouchers can be saved up, so if you're planning on going back to work after a year, start stockpiling them now!

you can stockpile vouchers indefinitely and can keep using them for afterschool and holiday clubs when they are bigger si i would start to claim as soon as you can
