as well as a 7mth old baby? i know i will need 3 high chairs and 2 travel cots and a three wheeler.

baby is very good - no trouble at all. what about two 15mth old boys? what can i expect? its been ages since i've looked after one let alone 2.

no dont think i would.Do you even have the space>?

LoveMyGirls · 05/05/2006 16:35

i have the vacancies and i would have space if the highchairs folded down and if i put the travel cots in dds room. at the moment ive only got one coming to interview me im just wondering incase the 1st one rings me back tonight.

Would you actuaslly be able to fold them down after each time and i wasnt talking about the vacancies but about the space in your house. It was hard with 2 high chairs and i have a big kitchen.

HappyMumof2 · 05/05/2006 17:07

no, I wouldn't. May possibly consider p/t with the two 15 mths (eg, overlap but not all the same days together) but definately not with a 7 mth old.

babydales · 05/05/2006 17:55

Yeah I would. If you want to then go for it. Give them a months settling in and see how it goes. I have had 11 children here today and four childminders and not one fall out amonst anyone, thats the children not the minders. The more there are the better they play together.

ThePrisoner · 05/05/2006 18:55

If you feel you could cope with the demands of the age groups, then I would do it. Last year, I had two babies (8 months old) and a 14 month old.

It was hard work, although none of the children were "difficult" as such.

And yes, I have three high chairs and a triple buggy!!

HappyMumof2 · 05/05/2006 19:02

I think a lot would depend on your experience. Have you had lots of nanny share or twin experience?

nannynick · 05/05/2006 19:37

Yes, if I was childminding I would consider it. I would probably not have any additional children (such as over 8's), as with 3 under 2's it can be challenge at times.

As already mentioned in this thread, it may depend on your experience... if you have worked with the age group before, if you have worked in other settings such as nursery baby units (ratio 1:3 for under 2's).

15 month olds I find can vary quite a bit. I currently care for 19 month old, so thinking back 4 months - yes he was quite fun... good climber, defeated cupboard safety catch system, would throw himself down slides at toddler group, wanting to be independent (very messy meal times, choose own clothes). Need to get out and about - release some energy... so think how you will cope on outings, do you have tripple buggy, what if one, or both older children want to walk?

LoveMyGirls · 05/05/2006 22:30

there is quite a bit to think about and hard to tell without meeting the children. i've got one coming tomorrow morning and one on monday night. i might not get the opportunity to look after both but i wanted to think long and hard just in case.

i dont have moutains of experience but i do feel capable and am thinking that it will be easier than having lots of different age groups to cater for and they can play well together. if i do take them both one i will definatly not be looking for any more mindee's so i will have four children in total (I have my dd1 who is almost 7).

if they want to walk on outings then they can wear reigns.

my little ones, 19 months and 15months both sit in little chairs at a little table for meals. this way i only usually have to have one highchair out, though i have more if needed. its makes them feel very grown up and they are so well behaved.

franyfroo · 07/05/2006 19:53

should have said i also have a 9 month old full time as well and 2 days a week have a VERY lively 3.5 year old. (i have a variation, just incase you wondered)

LoveMyGirls · 07/05/2006 22:39

thanks it does feel do able but i will have to wait til i meet the 2nd little boy tomorrow.
