CM Club: NO PERMISSION for SUN CREAM to be applied

Hi again

I have a mindee who's mum has completed the NCMA parental permission form but has not signed for me to be able to apply sun cream.

I'm going to check if this was missed by mistake or if she actually doesn't want sun cream to be applied.

If she says she doesn't want me to apply it then what do I do? I'm not prepared to keep all children indoors because 1 mindee can't have sun cream. I'm hoping it's been missed by mistake but what on earth do I say to the parent if I'm told I can't? Give notice? Any other options? Obviously could be protected from the sun by wearing long sleeved tops etc. but I wouldn't be happy with this either as the child would be very hot (in summer). I do have a few UV Sun Suits but I think this mindee is a little big for them and I don't want to have to buy another suit (they aren't cheap) as this one is only one day a week.

Advice? (all IF I'm told I can't apply cream)

Thanks :)

Hopefully just been missed in error but if not, ask the parent to provide a UV suit. Surely they would not want their child to go without fresh air/outdoor play?

I'm hoping it was just missed too :)

The UV Sun Suits I have for the babies are not full length - more like equivilent to shorts and t-shirt. Can you get full length ones? If not, I'm wondering if it's safe to still have no sun cream as I personally would apply on full length of arms and legs as there's still a risk of getting burnt.

i THOUGHT the vest were to fac 50. As you know i burn and the ones i have seen are fac 50.

Ask for the child to have one provided. Could there be an allergy if it was missed on purpose if so the allergy care lines such as excema line if the child suffers can recommend one as can doctors if the child is allergic to an ingrediant and that is why it has been missed. Can also be free if the doctors can recommend one.

Cheers Jelly - my UV suits are factor 50, my point was they don't cover the whole body and I was worried about the exposed bits.

On the allergy section of my child record form, they have put none known so I don't think this will be the reason. If however they say it is then I will get them to seek alternative.
