Does this sound about right for a CM?

CM to pick up 2 children from school at 3.20pm and I collect them by 6pm. 55 pounds per day including supper.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Flisspaps · 04/02/2013 07:30

Depends on your area, and the CM's terms.

I charge £3 per hour, but that's normal where I live.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 04/02/2013 07:34

I would charge £23.50 for that but again that's normal for where I live.

If you ring your local families information service they may send you a list so you can compare prices, or sometimes they have a website.

London

I live in London and pay £75 a week for the same arrangement, so it does seem a bit high.

QueenoftheWildThings · 04/02/2013 07:37

Sorry, should clarify - 3 day week, so £25 a day

Pendipidy · 04/02/2013 07:39

No . Ask her what her hourly rate is. Seems like she is charging you for whole sessions when you are using a part of them . But she Will prob say she can not have other children all day because yours are using up the spaces, albeit for only part of the day.

Dancergirl · 04/02/2013 07:39

And that's for 2 dc queen?

OP posts:
Wishihadabs · 04/02/2013 07:39

Sounds about right. That's how much afternoon club would be here (not London but SE)

Pendipidy · 04/02/2013 07:39

Well, that is different! Per week!

Wishihadabs · 04/02/2013 07:41

Sorry am confused it would be £21 for 2 dcis she ccharging £25 each (seems high)

HSMMaCM · 04/02/2013 08:07

I would charge £15 each in the South East, but not give them dinner, so it might be right for some parts of London.

MirandaWest · 04/02/2013 08:10

So that's 3 hours for £27.50 per child. Just over £9/hour. Does sound expensive to me.

MortifiedAdams · 04/02/2013 08:16

Sounds pricey to me. I would have thought £5ph pdc max so £30.

brainonastick · 04/02/2013 08:22

No. We pay £9ph for 2 after school, south east commutersville. I guess you could add on another £3-£5 each for the food, but you wouldn't get up to that figure.

YourHandInMyHand · 04/02/2013 08:23

Seems like a lot to me!

Kiriwawa · 04/02/2013 08:26

I paid £15 for one (SE)

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub · 04/02/2013 08:27

I pay £15 for an after school session plus £2 for a snack meal (eg sandwich), not London but South East. So two kids would be £34 a day.

My CM only does after school and holidays, if yours normally does full time care he/she may be charging more to partly recoup this?

TheDoctrineOfSciAndNatureClub · 04/02/2013 08:29

I think from other threads on here, a London nanny would charge something like £13 per hour gross no matter what the number of children, for a comparison.

3rdnparty · 04/02/2013 08:32

round here (west london) norm is £20/£25 per child after school price -the higher price usually includes food...generally it's a session price after school..

Wickedgirl · 04/02/2013 09:38

My after school price is £15 per child per day which includes a light tea (sandwiches, bagel etc)

It doesn't matter if it is for 10 minutes or the full 2.5 hours after school, the cost is the same

ReetPetit · 04/02/2013 11:55

i am in north/north west london and would charge £24 per child per evening session for this. she is probably charging more as she is providing a (cooked I assume) meal for 2 children every evening also. I think it's about right, perhaps a little steep but depends on which part of london and also her journey time to the school i would think...

DialsMavis · 04/02/2013 12:18

In in Ealing and paid £16.50 for one child including dinner.

cece · 04/02/2013 12:49

I pay £20per day for the same. Pick up from school and collected by 6pm. It also includes a cooked homemade dinner. Surrey.

dobby2001 · 04/02/2013 13:41

Just checked prices local to me as I will be doing the same come September. Where I am (south London borough) its around £20-25 per child. This includes a 2 course evening meal and drop off in the morning if required. Session fee, not hourly rate so no reduction for any variations.

Not decided what I am charging yet as I am a wuss and hate putting up my fees etc Hmm

QueenoftheWildThings · 04/02/2013 14:19

Yes, 2 dc, £5 an hour per child
