Nanny OFSTED registration and first aid courses

We want to get our nanny OFSTED registered so we can do the childcare tax voucher. She needs to get a new first aid certificate as her old one is over 3 years old now.
Does she have to do the 12 hour/2day course? I have seen on a couple of web sites that there is a shorter course for nannies who are applying for the voluntary register but I can't fathom out if this is for nannies with charges of 8 years and over. My DCs are all under 8.
It is the done thing, I assume, also for us to pay for this course as its for our benefit really.

How much are you going to spend on this registration and how much is it actually going to save you? I use my childcare vouchers on things like kip mcgrath and holiday camps. Much easier than faffing around with ofsted.

I think it will save us about £900 each on tax p.a. so worth the initial outlay.OFSED registration, first aid costs, and insurance add up to around £300 ( of course she pays the insurance though).
At this point, with 3 under 4, I have nothing else to put the vouchers towards!

Either first aid course is fine as long as the provider says it covers all that is required.
In my experience a 12 hour course will cover more and allocate more time to practical such as bandaging and resus.
Personally I do the 12 hour courses as you do forget things over the years, plus things change.
