Would a Nanny want this job?

2 families, 3 children each (4, 6 & 8), 2 days with just one family and the other 3 days with both families - one mum part-time, the other full-time. Dropping 6&8 yr olds to school & 4 yr olds at pre-school (all walking distance). Pre-school pick up at 12, school pick up 3 and til Mums get home?
Before we get carried away with planning I wondered if it's too many children?

I would be concerned about logistics, so I would want maps of walking routes so that I could decide if I felt it was reasonable to do with 6 children.

How much are you paying? If it's the same as someone could get looking after 1/2/3 children I don't know why anyone would want to look after six. I know a nanny that had six, but she was earning something like £18ph.

What will the nanny be doing while the younger ones are at pre-school? What will happen in school holidays? What will happen when one of the children is sick? What will happen when the school is shut due to snow/teacher's strike/other short notice reason?

Thanks, all things to think about.
Small village and everything within walking distance. Am sure one of the 4 parents would work at home if snow/illness etc.
I also believe there is a surplus of nannies in the area due to a private nursery closing down.

Small village can be very isolating. Good bus/train connection for longer trips in school holidays?

Not sure how nursery closing = more nannies. Exnursery staff do not always want to be nannies and some do not make the trasition, roles are different.

Private nursery closing may also mean a childcare shortage, and nursery staff may not be attracted to a role with school aged children.

It sounds a lot if public transport isn't very good where you are for days out in the holidays and you'd need someone pretty mature to handle the potential conflicts. It could be great, it could be a nightmare...

Then number of children itself wouldn't be an issue, but I would.want to talk about longevity of the position, what happens when everyone is at full time.school?
I would also want to know about other duties, would I be expected to do full nursery duties at each house? It could be a bit much in holidays and while I still had preschoolers. How would I be able to get out and about during holidays for activities? Or are there plenty of local activities, leisure centre, library, playground, woods, cycle routes, cinema.
What about playdates? Or are the children expected to only socialise with each other? It could easily go from 6 children to 8 or 10!
