using salary sacrifice to pay a nanny

I am looking for a bit of advice and hoping someone can help. I have an ofsted registered nanny starting shortly and want to do salary sacrifice to cover as much of the cost as possible. Does anyone know if I can do this and how I would go about setting it up? Thanks in advance.

You need to talk to your employer about childcare voucher and register on the scheme. There can be a bit of a delay setting it up so make sure you have enough to pay the first couple of months without.

Childcare vouchers from employer (if they offer them) up to the value of £243 per month is the only way I can think of doing it.

That's brilliant guys, thank you. I have used childcare vouchers before to pay a childminder but a nanny is new to me. I am presuming the info I will need from my nanny is sort code and bank account number, so the money can be transfered across?

the nanny will need to join whichever scheme your company uses and it can take some time. You can make payments in while membership is being sorted out (took a while for us, but she was also Ofsted registering). Both of you can use the £243 / month, and nanny will need to join each company's scheme if they're different.

Thanks bobbifleckman. Will contact the schemes directly to see how I get her registered.
