Mine at the moment takes the baby to tumble tots, makes her lunch, takes her out in the afternoon and then picks the older up from school and takes them to tennis or swimming two days, the other days reads to them or watches them play.
I was speaking to another lady who's nanny does the childrens washing, makes the packed lunches and dinner.
Is she asking too much or has mine got an easy job ?
TIA

Hi there,

I need some advice - I am a nanny for a great family and I work 3 days a week. I am thinking of taking on some extra work on the 1 or 2 days I don't work for them, due to financial difficulties. I have only been with them 4/5 months and the Mum asked me a couple of times at my interview if I was planning on taking on extra work, to which I said no. They pay me well, etc (but I also work very hard for them - which they've praised me for, several times). I'm quite a shy person and find it hard to talk to people, although during a cup of tea one day, when we were chatting I did mention my situation, just to get it off my chest as I have told no-one. I suppose what I'm trying to work out is whether I run me thinking of taking on extra work past my boss because I don't want anything to interfere with my job, as I really enjoy it and because they are extremely wealthy I don't want her to think I am hinting at any financial help which Im sure she won't but I am ashamed of my situation and it would kill me if they thought that. Any advice please xx

@Burrluckk if you only work 3 days it's not unreasonable to think you might get another job. You could always broach it with parents first and ask if they need any extra hours but I hardly think they can start dictating what you do in your days off as long as it doesn't impact care of their children (i.e. Night nannying the evening before a days work or similar)
