Got pre-schoolers 'Aliens love panta claus' books cos they love the aliens love underpants story.

Older ones just get a selection box cos i got 10 to buy for and would cost a fortune to get anything else.

How bizarre...I've got the same books for my lot!

Annoyingly, I forgot I'd bought them and bought a pack of 10 christmas books from the book people then found the other lot Blush.

I have two 10yr old mindees and a 12yr old to buy for also.

Haven't got them all yet. A few of the girls have got a hello kitty necklace and bracelet set in a nice little voil bag (someone makes them so come in the bag), a few toddlers have a fab playdoh breakfast making set (bargain as were reduced to 9.99 each with an offer of 3 for 2!). I tend to buy what they are into so they'll get different stuff. I have 13 families and so it's an expensive time but a lot of families end up getting something for me AND my 2 boys so I like to get a little more.

Good grief I don't buy presents for mindees.

I bought the pack of 10 xmas books from the book people and will split those out among the littlies. For the older ones I got some personalised pencils and pencil cases which were reduced to £2.99 with Studio 24. The one older boy I have is getting a skylanders jigsaw.

The girls are getting a dolls house each which cost £4.99 in argos and the boys are getting duplo farm sets from boots (3 for 2). They'll also get a little bit of chocolate too.

Last year was a book and selection box but I'm minding friends kids this year so spending a little bit more

Bath crayons, magnets, clothes, etc

MaryPoppinsBag · 12/12/2012 17:22

I am getting hot wheels car packs for my 4 boys (3-5's) who are into cars £4 each (on offer)

Boots paint your own jewellery box for my two girls (9&10) 3 for 2 bought with my other Xmas pressies so only £4 each with offer.

And a pack of Moshis for my 9 year old boy.

No idea what To get my 10 nearly 11 year old boy.

I can't not get them something. I buy for birthdays too.

I always get books for Christmas and birthdays. I try to make them ones the children have taken an interest in or which feature their favorite characters. I steer clear of toys because it's too easy to duplicate what a parent or friend may have bought.

Lego

fudgesmummy · 12/12/2012 20:14

I have 31 minded children and I buy a Christmas and birthday present for them all (and an egg at Easter!) Yes its costs a lot of money but I consider it part of the job. The presents vary but are usually crafty things or books etc. The older children have chocolate at Christmas. The hardest thing is remembering what I gave them last year so as not to give the same again!! Xmas Blush

One year old boy - wooden shape sorter
Two year old girl - yet another doll (all she ever wants)
Three year old boy - duplo set
The older occasional after-schoolies are getting a selection box each.

I consider them all part of the family and they are treated accordingly
