If a parent came to collect a mindee and mindee said they did not want to go home and burried themselves into your balls pit... would you expect CM or Daddy (who had come to collect) to fish them out???
Also do you think it's a bit bad when they come to you at 10am and haven't had breakfast???

Quite often mindees have not wanted to go home

And the mum usually tries to persuade and says what they will be doing at home or what they are having for tea

She says it is because he has so much fun here

Yes would expect brekkie to happen before 10 am

FeelingOld · 31/03/2006 17:49

2 of my mindees often hide behind the sofa when it's time to go home. I just fetch them out and then hand them over to mum, I do it because I find that they behave better if I get them out, but scream if mum tries.

Yes I would expect a child to have had breakfast if they arrive at 10am, my mindees are ready for their morning snack by then never mind their brekky.

Would expect them to be fed by then, is it a one off or a regular thing them not being fed.

Same as feelingold, had that lots of times and I always try and get them to do what they should as they tend to listen more. I think it's quite normal for kids to do this tbh. As for breakfast, I'd refuse to do this at this time as my snack time is shortly after and if one has breakfast, the others may all decide they want the same and it messes up the routine!

I would expect them to have had brekky by 10 but it does depend on what time they got up, I sometimes have to pick up my mindees from there house at 9.30 and there have been many times when they have still been fast aslep in bed.

My mindees haide from whoever is picking them up most days, I usually persuade them to go to their mum as they are alot better behaved for me.

No one has asked why you asked these questions and if you have 'concerns' Do you?

Mostly, parents persuade child to leave, I only intervene if child really not listening to mums persuasion.

I would expect child to have had breakfast by 10am but if not would not expect to be asked to provide it - I would expect child to wait until fruit time (about 10.30). My early mindees have breakfast at 8-8:30.

I had a parent who often used to bring child late, very late in fact; one particular morning I had asked her to be on time but she brought child just as I was about to leave for playgroup, asked me to give breakfast before leaving. I am afraid I had to tell her that I could not as other mindees all ready to go out of the door so child would have to wait for fruit when I arrived at playgroup. I know this sounds harsh & am aware that children do not always want to eat at a particular time but I have a routine that I like to try & keep to as best I can.
