I feel so so awful about this - but I know that I did the right thing.

There is a childminder near me and her actions have worried me, and other CM's and parents in the past. But yesterday I was shocked beyond belief and drew the short straw and ended up calling ofsted.

Don't really want to go into details, but she was putting childrens saftey at risk........

DId I do the right thing, I feel totally awful about it this morning....

Plus my friend uses this cm and I really should call her and let her know my concerns, would you??

You poor, poor thing You have my sympathy

You're so brave, you must be so proud that you did the right thing

jellyjelly · 30/03/2006 11:21

Think you must have done the right thing. If they were at risk then yes but i guess it is hard not to feel guilt but just think the kids would thank you.

You have got me all curious though. I would tell my friend but wouldtn want it to get back to the minder which might be difficult if it is enough for her to give notice without givng that as the reason. Was it only you that saw what happened?

You did the right thing, if something happened to any child in her care, would you be able to forgive yourself if you hadn't done anything???
You were obviously worried and thats what OFSTED are there for...
But you have me curious too!

jellyjelly · 30/03/2006 14:56

Glad it wasnt just me being a noisy parker.

Jensmum · 30/03/2006 16:27

Don't feel bad as you know you have done the right thing, especially as it concerns the safety of a child

It's people like her that put parents off using a childminder.

eefs · 30/03/2006 16:35

TBH we can't have an opinion on the rights or wrongs of this without knowing what happened.

Katymac · 30/03/2006 16:38

I think if a childminder is concerned enough by another childminders action to consider ringing OFSTED, then s/he should.

Whether or not the allegation is found to be valid, is immaterial.

S/he should make her/his concerns known.

Agree with eefs. WE need to know why you called otherwise we cant really judge it.

And you know how we like to judge Wink Grin
