Don't know anyone who has ever notified anyone else about anything their mindees have had, so can't help!

I expect parents would worry if you had plague!

I was under the impression that anything you had that was notifiable would be "bad enough" for you to see a GP, and that therefore they are responsible for notifying it, not the individual affected.

Thanks locket - i had gooogled but just kept getting stuff about food poisoning

prisoner - there is a list of diseases that you are supposed to notify the health authority about if any child you look after gets. i know that most of them are really horrid, but one of them is scarlet fever - and there was an outbreak of that in the area this time last year. The schools are also supposed to notify if anyone has anything on the list too

I understand about the list etc., but still thought that your GP reported stuff (or don't people see their GPs for things like scarlet fever any more?? - God, I must be getting old!)

As a parent you don't have to notify but as a childminder or other childcare worker you probably do same as the schools.

I stand corrected I know you are supposed to tell the GP, I am thinking of the notifying as the bit they (GP) have to do.
