Aupair car insurance - what do you do?

We have a 25 year old lovely french aupair for the last two weeks.
SHe is expected to do the school runs and we are getting a car for her use.
Any tips for getting car insurance? Who to go with and what type of car insurance tc.,

Hi, we have had our 24 year old au pair on our car insurance for the last six months. Didn't increase it by that much at all. If your au pair has had her licence for 5 years (or maybe even 3) and has had no accidents it won't be a big insurance increase.
Basically you just add her on your current insurance for the rest of your policy and then shop around when it expires. (Sorry if this sounds too obvious or patronising)

Call your current insurer for a quote. Some (M&S for example) don't accept EU under 30's on their policies at all. If you have to switch, Tesco Value is a good one, or you could try a comparison site. You will pay a fortune if you insure it under her name. It's much less if it's a car you are both going to use and she is the named driver. Insurance is obviously lower for certain types of cars
