What shall I do with 9yr old Ds when i'm working weekends ??

Have just landed a job working at a hotel, but obviously, because of the nature of the business, weekends are their busiest time.

It looks like I will be working 4 days a week, including the Sat and sundays. I won't do both weekend days every week, but quite often I should think.

Anyhow, I have 3 dc, two dd's age nearly 15 and nearly 13, and 1 ds who is nearly 10.

I am planning on leaving the girls to see to themselves, but am wondering what to do with ds. Saturdays are ok, because i can drop him at his dads, and then he does drama for 2 hours, and can go back to his dads until I fetch him around half 3.

Sundays though, I just don't know. He could go to his dads again, but i know he won't want to, and tbh I don't blame him, cos his dad doesn't do anything with him. I don't want ep in the house, so him coming here isn't an option.

My other option is to get my dd's to look after him. Not sure if this would work though for various reasons, ie them wanting to go out themselves, arguing etc.

My mum lives close by, but I don't really want to ask her if I can help it, because we don't always get on, and the girls wouldn't be particularly keen on her being there all day either.

I know ds would def prefer to be at home on the sunday so he can play out with his friend next door, and just chill out, which is fair enough.

What shall I do ??

Maybe i could ask the girls to have him of a sunday morning, but get my mum to come over in the afternoon, so the girls can go out then if they like.

As your son is over 8, you could pay another parent to look after him for a couple of hours - they wouldn't need to register as a childminder. Maybe get your girls to do a bit too, for some extra pocket money as long as there are no arguments.....

my older dds have looked after younger dd during holidays. However, I have a strict agreed in advance rota so it is clear exactly who is responsible. they can swap between them but this has to be agreed before the date. I pay them a tenner for half a day, twenty for a full day.
