Check the guidance here if you haven't already - note that Ofsted call a nanny a "home childcarer". You can apply online starting here - you will have to register for a Government Gateway account if you haven't got one which means waiting a few days for them to send you a password in the post. If you don't want to wait you should be able to download the CR1 form here but Ofsted changed the system on 1 September and haven't published the new form yet Hmm

Thank you! I'm waiting for my 1sr aid certificate to be here....should be here several days ago any day now Hmm

Do I need it in my hand before I start the process?

Thanks again!

Don't think you do. Ofsted's procedures change quite often though and they have recently had changes to things but haven't yet published new guidance, so I would suggest you try registering online and seeing what the online system says. Online Ofsted - uses GovGateway login.

Have submitted the application form finally !

I searched my old username and "Nanny OFSTED" and it seems I've started 7 threads asking about registering over 3 years :o

But it's actually on it's way now!

Any idea how long it takes for the next stage? (And payment etc?)

Depends how long the CRB check takes - could be a couple of weeks to several months. I'd guess at 3 weeks assuming you have lived in the same place for past five years.

Nope, moved 7 weeks ago (Although hd lived at previous address 13y)

Bugger, was hoping for a relatively quick turn around!

Thanks Nick!
