Can my husband give me childcare vouchers?

I'm a CM and look after our own children obviously as well as other people's - we were just wondering whether DH could purchase childcare vouchers at work and pay them over to me? Is there any rule about not being able to use childcare vouchers if the registered provider is your spouse?

I wouldn't have thought this would be above board. Does he normally pay you to look after your own children?

Hmm tricky one. I guess you could say that if you had your children, that reduces the number of paying children so in that case I don't see why not.

ditto boobs -why should your dh claim back the tax on you looking after your children - he wouldnt pay you otherwise

saying that, you may be able to use dh vouchers to pay for some nursery sessions but not to include you at all in the scheme

Wouldn't have thought so unless you are already being paid by your dh. It certainly sounds dodgy to me.

procrastinor · 28/08/2012 19:37

Aah thought not. HMRC. There's a but at the bottom that says you can't if you're a parent and your looking after the child in their own home.

My DH couldn't

Cheers folks - it was just an idle thought and I was pretty sure it wasn't possible. Thanks for all the info.
