Au pair - what to do

I'm a novice to au pairs and I will be getting an au pair girl in October to help me with my ds (3) and dd (7) . Is it standard for the au pair to pay for the English classes or do I pay? I want to make this clear before I write her a contract for the job.

They pay, but you should help them find a course. Generally you will need to find local authority adult education courses because they won't be able to afford the private language schools.

Thanks for that. And this has probably been asked before but do we pay au pairs normal rate when they go on leave?

Absolutely - everyone working in the UK is entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday in each 12 months pro rata (can include bank holidays).
