Hi everybody,
I have recently written about my last day of employment in this thread
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childminders_nannies_au_pairs_etc/1527192-My-last-day-of-employment-was-a-nightmare
Thank you all for the response. I have finally received the wriitten reference on my e-mail and when my new employer called my previous employer for a reference, he said it was a glowing one, 100% possitive and I'm relieved now
but...
We agreed that I would finish work on 26-th July and would be paid for the period from 26-th July till 6-th August as I didn't use my holiday entitlement this year.
The final payslip (issued by NannyTax) arrived in an-email as well as my P-45 form but the final payment didn't. When I called my employer last week he said he doesn't know when the payment comes. So I called NannyTax and they said the employer must know. I sent a text message to my previous employer and there was no response. I'm not stupid but I'm a foreigner, that was my second nanny job and I don't know what to do. I need the money.
What should I do next? Wait? How long?

Call your former employer and demand that they transfer the money as per the payslip which you were sent.

If they don't do so. Write a letter demanding payment is made giving them a specific date for when they must pay, such as 5 days from date of letter, saying that if payment is not provided by then you will start legal proceedings against them to recover the debt.
Look up Small Claims Court / Moneyclaim which will give you more info about making a claim against them.

Nannytax are not responsible for paying you, it is your former employer who has to transfer money from their bank to your bank.

Thank you Nick, I tried to call my former employers (both the lady and her husband) this morniong but none of them picked up the phone. I left voice messages on their mobiles and will wait. During the past two years of my employment they answered my phone calls immediately and sent back text messages within a few minutes. I'd like to understand why they behave in a strange way now.

When ringing them put 141 before their number so it will come up withheld on their phone (doesn't work for texts, only calls)
Then they may well answer is they don't know its you
