Childminder / Nanny required - really don't know which way to jump

This has probably been done a thousand times before but I need your help.

I'm looking for some childcare for my two children, my 2 year old needs full days 2 possible 3 days per week and my 4 year old before and after school on those days.

I've nearly exhausted all childminders in my area who either don't have the availability or who I just wasn't quite sure about.

I couldn't have an au pair as we don't have the space for another person.

I've briefly considered a live out nanny, which I do like the idea of but not sure we could afford one.

How much could I expect to pay for a Nanny and where's the best place to try and find one?

Thanks

Nanny costs depend where you are anything from min wage (for maybe nursery nurse first nanny job type person) upto £15 gross (highly experienced and qualified) - obv this is per family not per child,

Then you have to factor in additional costs such as heating, elec etc wear and tear on home, mileage, kitty for outings, food for nanny.

Other options:

  1. Nursery for little one and for before/after school for older one
  1. childminder for little one and a before/after school club for older one
  1. Nursery for youngest and a cm for before/after school for older one

If you chose to look for a nanny there are many sites and many threads on here about recruiting your own nanny.
