I am behind with my registers. I have a diary where I note the arrival and departure times, where possible. How do you record yours? Would love a quck and easier method.

What do you keep on file (paper) and what do you keep on your computer? Please could you let me know how I can put a lock on my file to make them private. I trust my familiy, but Oftsed may ask me how do I ensure their kept confidential.

Some of my files are as follows:-

Certificates
Working with parents
Health and Safety
Planning and next steps
Learning Journels (each child)
Display folders (arts and craft stuff in)
Tax return folder
Ofsted folder (due a visit)

Have you got any I have missed

Thanks so much. I

Hi - I use the NCMA register book to record times of arrive and departure and get the parents to sign at end of the week.

The only thing I've got stored on my computer is my Self-Evaluation Form and my policies and procedures. The rest is all on paper which I photocopy if I need again.

Everything is kept in living room on top of a cupboard or in drawers in my bedroom.

The lady from Ofsted was happy with this when she came last September

My diary is my register. No need to fill in a separate register.

Arts and crafts go home with children. I take a picture of their work and store on computer.

Nice one!

Do registered need to be signed?

I have some of my forms on my computer, I print them off when needed. You have to stay balance or you can be running a paper shop.

Not certain whether they have to be signed but I think it's good practice.

There's a space for my signature and parents and it's just something I've done for the past 9/10 years.

I have never had my diary/register signed in the past 12 years. Ofsted outstanding.

Thanks everyone.

I also heard you do not have to have policies and procedures. I am still doing mine as its good practice.

Its amazing how cms differ in what they do and provide.
