:o TP its like the inspector that came to see me.

First she gave me a scenario of ....what if an older child wanted to go to your downstairs toilet the stairgate that you have across the kitchen door(bathroom at end of kitchen) would not be enough you need to put cupboard locks on too....my reply if they are old enough to open the kitchen gate wont they be able to open the cupboards too!! "oh yeah" she says duh Shock

The second thing was i have a 3 foot high wall running along one side of my garden. She says an atheletic child could jump that and that she may not be able to register my garden. Again duh if you dont register my garden then i have to according to the standards take them all to the park at least daily. The park that has no walls !!

Having dealt with OFSTED in nurseries and also to a small extent in the home now all my advice is see them as people, they are only human. If they say something that you dont agree with and in my experience as long as your argument stands against the standards then they usually get off their high horses. Though in their defence most of them are decent people just doing a job :o .....just in case there are and OFTSED inspector mumsnetters

I remember some time ago being told that if I needed to go to the loo (have got a downstairs cloakroom), I shouldn't leave minded children in the kitchen unattended. So, at lunchtime, I must remove three small mindees from high chairs and take them into my very small WC. Great health and safety rules!! And no, I don't do it.

I tell myself that Ofsted inspectors are human. In my head, on Mumsnet and at numerous meetings, courses, etc., I bleat on about the unfairness of it all. However, I almost certainly won't start arguing with an inspector at my next inspection because I'll end up being struck off!!

(I met an ex-Ofsted inspector recently ... am not really convinced about this "being human" ...)
