I explained that I was finishing with current family next week could she come to new family in September, but she was very insistent that she came yesterday as it was 'in her quota for this month'
I have a feeling she had to get so many through before new eyfs.
But she really didn't seem to have any idea of the difference between a nanny and a CM.
I asked her had she done any other VR inspections and she said she had done plenty.
So that's plenty done to the wrong criteria

Have spoken to Ofsted need to put in an official complaint as, as we thought the inspector was totally incompetent and got it all wrong.

Well done.

Don't fall into the same trap as the inspector though - the fact that you are on the Voluntary Part of the register is irrelevant, it is the fact that you are a Home Childcarer that is important.

I'm so glad you got this sorted. The woman who inspected me kept saying "of course we can't really do much about nannies" and I could see it really P**d her offSmile She asked a lot of pointless questions and as she was leaving the then 3 year old I care for whispered to me "can we go out now the ladies going"Grin

Do think carefully about letting your registration slip as you may need it for a future job and will have to go through the whole thing again perhaps with a few new hoops to jump through! Good luck in your new job.

I will be fine letting it slip Sunshine, , im in my mid fifties and have Lupus so this one will definitely be the last job I take Grin

I had an ofsted visit last January and I had to have a policy for everything. She told me that I didn't have enough risk assessments done for trips out, but she was pleased that I had everything in place. I did a fire escape plan also which she was impressed with. I had this all in place as an nofsted inspector told me that is what they expect. She also kept telling me that the door was to be locked and the key to be kept on me.

Shoshe - Just wondering if Ofsted have responded to your complaint yet. Have they concluded that their inspector was incompetent and that you did in fact meet the requirements and should not have had any actions?

Bump - wondering what the outcome was Soshe.
