I am a registered childminder in the Staines area. If anybody requires ad-hoc childcare please get in touch. Maybe you fancy a shopping trip without the kids or a nice long leisurely lunch with friends. Maybe you'd love to visit the hairdresser or perhaps you feel poorly and would love someone to take the little ones off your hands for a while. Whatever the reason, maybe i can help. No long term contracts or fixed weekly fees. Can provide references.

This all sounds quite encouraging - I must investigate further - don't suppose any of you ladies is in Hertfordshire are you?

Check out the thread \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2300&threadid=115672&stamp=060228170018\here} - it's a list of many of the minders on Mumsnet.

No Not Hertfordshire, Stockport. You can make yourself known by the methods that TP mentioned. Also at the local job centre, put an ad in the clinic, docs, local shops and advertise yourself as being available by the hour. A friend of mine in Leicester advertised herself in the local free paper in the run up to Christimas as available for kid free Xmas shopping trips and got loads of work. I have also found out through experience not to say NO when people phone to see if you have a vacancy, as if you say NO straight away you dont find out what they actually want.
