For exampe when they start morning or afternoon school nursery. ( still under 5) With eyfs is it the setting who provides the most care that has to do it? So if child comes two days a wk but goes to nursery 5 mornings, do I have to do eyfs? Or are the hrs counted on a daily basis?or the same with a child that comes to me (CM) one day but is in a private nursery the other 4 days. Thanks

All settings have to implement eyfs. If child is at more than one setting the settings must share information.

everyone in childcare must be doing the eyfs, even if a child only goes to them for a morning.

you should be able to download all the info for it online, you may be able to find something there :) i only have the development bits at home, not the criteria and info, otherwise i'd have a look for you

1.3 of the revised eyfs says: Wrap around3 and holiday providers4 should be guided by, but do not necessarily need to meet, all the learning and development requirements. Practitioners should discuss with parents and/or carers (and other practitioners and providers as appropriate) the support they intend to offer, seeking to complement learning in settings in which children spend more time.

2.4 of the revised eyfs the last part says: If a child moves settings between the ages of two and three it is expected that the progress check would usually be undertaken by the setting where the child has spent most time.In the circumstances above I would say you need to provide the EYFS however if the child needs the progress check you may decide to contribute but not write the document.

from this I would say for the circumstances described above you will need to deliver eyfs however the progress check could be completed by the other setting but you may wish to contribute.

The setting that has them the most time is supposed to do all the assessments, but other settings should work with them and still have a requirement to provide quality care, so I just do the same for everyone. I find it easier and parents prefer what I do anyway.
