Hi Everyone

Looking a head and would like to do this in the future, when my youngest starts senior school.

Thanks for you comments.

Premises with planning consent and a fire certificate.

A manager with an NVQ 3, suitable staff and the other requirements for registration for Chidcare on Non-Domestic Premises.

Policies and procedures to comply with the requirements of the new EYFS.

A business plan.

Children.

Luck.

Thank you so much.

Excuse me for asking is this your area of employment?

Not exactly, I am an accountant and some of my work is providing advice to childcare businesses; I am also familiar with the requirements as a school governor (the same regs cover some pre-schools and wrap-around care).

dont do it. i have just closed my nursery after 15 years due to ill health. the ratios of how many practioners to children, and the rightd the staff have, such ss how many breaks, holidays etc. just think how much it costs to run a house, the bills are huge, everthing is buisness, such as buisness gas etc. the costs are massive.long hours. no holidays. barely minimum wage. to much red tape. sorry for errors on phone.

Hi Purple15 sorry to hear that.

Were you a cm before this?

What is the difference between running a nursery and being a childminder. apart from the numbers and the place its being run?
