Ok, will provide a few detials but my mind is a bit off as not working at the moment.

Fire evacuation
missing child
health and safety
copmplaint/compliments
emergency plan
qualifications
availablity
admissions policy
fees
illness and sickness including the diseases where you dont take them
food provided
aims of sevice
objections
assessment
equal oportunities
child protection
confidentiality
behavoiur
child details
photography
child safety
house rules

Think that is about all i cam remember. For the fire evac think about how you would get out if the fire was by the front door, in the kitchen, bedrooms basically how you would get everyone out in the shortest/safest time/way.

A website with useful info has been set up for us all to share, click \link{http://www.freewebs.com/mncmclub\this}. I have all my policies on there so maybe some bits may help?

Good luck :)

jellyjelly · 28/02/2006 14:38

Yes if you are upstairs yes you would have to get out still so you would do it if you needed to.

sam101 · 28/02/2006 14:38

any other questions just type away am here most days as i cant work and i am missing it so much.

nzshar · 28/02/2006 15:17

The procedure for evacuation upstairs depends whether you have a safe way to leave....eg conservatory roof then ground etc. If on the other hand you have no safe way out from upstairs the recommended procedure is to open (or break if needed) a window and scream for help. The reason is there is no point jumping to your death is there!!!

jellyjelly · 28/02/2006 15:22

I keep a whistle upstairs for this reason.

nzshar · 28/02/2006 15:26

great idea jellyjelly .....yet another thing to add to my shopping list :o

sam101 · 28/02/2006 17:04

Okay policies all done thanks!!! other questions I have, on an attendance register is the parent supposed to sign for collection? and for a first aid box can i just use one from a supermarket? also i don't have an accident book, i am still waiting for my ncma pack, is it in that? what else, do you carry a card or something with the childrens details on when you are out and about? thanks again!!

I don't have an accident book as such, i have an accident and incident form which i print off and fill in 2 copies. Both copies are then signed by me and parents, i keep 1 and they have 1. This is accepted by the Care Commission, but it may be different in England and wales.

As for parents details, i keep all numbers for parents ( and i mean all numbers- work, home and mobile, plus emergency contact) stored in my mobile phone, which never leaves my side.

sam101 · 28/02/2006 17:34

thanks, where do you get your accident form from or did you design it yourself?

OP posts:
saltire · 28/02/2006 17:39

I designed it myself, but copied bits of it from the SCMA one. I originally did my own one because i was waiting for my things to come through from SCMA, but the Care Commission said they would accept it, so i just stuck with it.

I have a space for the incident ( fall, or whatever) a space for how it happened (ie cild was running outside and tripped) a space for any injury to child, a space so that i can check the child again say an hour later and make a note of any bruises that may have appeared. there is also a space for date, place , time and if there were any witnesses. also signature boxe for both parents (if they both want to sign) and my self. It may just work as a temp measure

I think you need a book with numbered pages for your accident and incident book, I'm sure it was on another thread a while ago.

For your first aid box you need (This is the list I got from my ICP)

20 individual plasters
2 eye bandages
3 triangular bandages
10 alcohol free antiseptic wipes (Savlon are the only ones I found that are alcohol free)
2 sterile dressings
2 pairs disposable gloves
6 safety pins

It all needs to be in an airtight waterproof box that is accessable.
