Help finding a nanny for Before School/Nursery only....

I start work early (8 am) and need to leave the home no later than 7 am so would like a nanny to bring DD 8 and DD 3 to school & nursery. As it would only be for a maximum of 2 hours a day, I'm trying to see what the best place to advertise this would be. Can anyone recommend something? Most childminders in my area (BR6) seem to start around 7:30 only...and I also need someone to come to my house (no car at moment) so they can get DDs dressed and give breakfast. Any tips greatly appreciated!

I found someone by putting an add in the newsagents.

As they are not babes in arms, how do you feel about an 'unqualified' person,e.g.a newly retired mum or grandma locally, with a bit of time on her hands, whose own ones have flown the nest?

It sounds as if you want a competent and warmhearted persion rather than someone trained to look after children's developmental needs/do crafts etc iyswim.

I would cast the net a little wider than childminders to ask your local friends/family if they know someone who might to it.

We have a neighbour who is delighted to take ours to school (after a 'second breakfast' of scrummy porridge at her house) as a favour, on the odd occassions I have to leave v early for work.

I suspect there may be some kind of tax implications, if you are paying someone, but I am totally hazy on that.....

thanks for the quick responses... No family nearby unfortunately & friends that do live in the area have kids at a different school. Never thought about an ad at newsagents... Indeed I just want someone that will treat the girls well, brings them in safely and is reliable!

Anyone had experience with Gumtree?

Try gum tree. There are au pairs who don't want to live in. I work long hours and have recently got an au pair. Having someone living in isn't ideal but she has transformed our lives.
