Live in nanny cost

My twins are due later in year and dd will be 22 months old. She's currently at childminder (£68 per day) and couldn't afford this for all three when I go back to work after 9 months mat leave.

Can anyone suggest how much a live in nanny would cost in s.w london/Surrey? We can provide nice loft bedroom and spacious house (although not her own bathroom). Would need to look after 9 month old twins full time and get dd (who'd be 2.9 by then) to nursery and back so I don't think au pair would be qualified enough? No evening duties required btw.

Thanks for your help! Just trying to find best solution...

Approx £8 per hour net

Au pair definitely not qualified but you could be looking at anything from £300hross to someone with virtually no experience to £500gross witha fair amount of experience or training and a few years experience to possibly £800+ gross for a very highly qualified, very experienced nanny.

A nanny will definitely work out cheaper than a CM for 3.

Do agree a gross salary as it benefits both you and your nanny and don't forget to factor in employer's NI, a kitty for activities and the cost of having another adult living in the house.

Also if you get an OFSTED registered nanny you can use childcare vouchers too.

Hi, I live in SW London/Surrey borders and I get 24,500 gross a year, live in. I have one child to look after.
