I work late on Fridays and until now my mum has collected her from school on those days. An issue has come up and I need to consider alternative care. I can use after school club til 6 pm but don't get home til 8.30. Would Prefer to have someone collect Dd from asc and then bring her home to feed her dinner etc. it's only 1 night per week so I'm wondering what would be the best option for this? I'm open to her going to someone else's home til 8.30 but given the short period of time only once a wk, not sure I'll find anyone who would do that. I also live in an area where there are no child minders. So, any suggestions?

Maybe a local college student? One who is studying child care would probably be happy to do this for pocket money and experience with children.

Childcare student could be good.

Someone who works at the afterschool club? A TA from the school who wouldn't mind a bit of afterschool nannying?

How about another mum who want some pin money?

Thanks. How do you go about finding a student? Do you contact the college or are their websites that advertise this kind of thing?

I'd consider anyone really but I'm also wary of who I'd be comfortable with too. If they were to come to my house, I'm going to have to trust them hugely as well. Bit nervous about that as I'd have to tidy up more Grin

i'd try the registered chilminder route anyway... you never know they could have a vacancy...

I've just agreed to take on a LO where the mother works shifts on an uneven rota and the dad works every morning 8-12, six days a week

so i will be having the child, 18 hours a week, then 9 hours per week, then 12 hours per week.

It suits me
