How much do au pairs earn?

I'm out of touch as we've had live-out for several years during which time i've somehow acquired a further 2 kids bringing the total to 4.
We live in central London. what is a fair rate for say a 30 hour week?
Thanks very much for any tips!

Generally under the lower earnings limit but can be anywhere between £70 and £100. With 4 kids and 30hours you're looking more like £100.

I have a few friends here in commuter Kent all live-in and the general rate seems to be £80-90pw but the hours & perks seem to vary massively. One of my friends only pays £70pw BUT her au pair gets free gym membership, tennis lesson, car & fuel allowance & earns extra for babysitting and this always struck me as a better way of doing it as you don't necessarily want to go out twice a week as most au pairs seem to be contracted for.

for central london with 4 children, i would say £100 per week (just under tax threshold)

plus a weekly/monthly bus/tube oyster paid for depending on where you are as that really eats a chunk out. plus in central london im assuming its easier for her/him to use public transport most the time with your children also so this will cover it

any other benefit will help your job to appeal to more. would offer to either pay or say 50% of english language course also as thats one of the main reasons au pairs should be coming to a country for
