Ofsted was due to inspect me last November. Still waiting.

Is anyone due or still waiting for inspection?

I am not wasting time just waiting. I am working on what still needs doing. Would love to hear whats happening with you in the mean time.

Me.

My last inspection was in Aug 2008 so presumably due any time.

All that I haven't done is my SEF but its on my laptop ready for when I can be arsed when I have time to edit it and print it off.

Im hoping it will be soon as I have a little boy leaving me for school at the end of August and I've put masses of effort into his learning journey and I really want the inspector to see it.

I have two little ones who have L J's. One is going to school full time in September too. Woul dlove Ofted to see that too.

Do you mind letting me know what you have done already, for Ofsted to see? Hope you dont mind me asking. It will give me something to work towards.

Thanks

The inspection cycle is now 47 months..Ofsted will carry out no inspections during August as they prepare for the new framework of inspections in Sept 2012 alongside the EYFS 2012
You can find info on their website

Last inspection was March 08,
In bettween time Ive had Ofsted out twice and on the second time, the Safeguarding team were brought in too...

I've actually done nothing in preparation. My files are always up to date anyway, daily diaries and attendance register done each day and my home is set up as an 'enabling enviroment' every day anyway.

I would normally update my policies and proceedures however from September we no longer need those so I haven't bothered.

I have a lot of children on roll who's parents couldn't care less what grading I get at my inspection and tbh neither can I as long as I can continue earning a living.

I haven't even looked at my 'Moving on' since my last inspection as I have no ambition to achieve an Outstanding grade like last time as I don't feel its worth the paper it's written on. In my opinion it's how much the children enjoy being in your home (I do reflect on this every 2 months) and how content the parents are that their child is loved, being cared for, learning and having fun that makes me a really good childminder.

Don't get too hung up on your inspection Wink

Brazen or anyone else who can confirm do we no longer need policies ? It's all tooooo confusing for me wha next :-(

Italiana · 05/06/2012 21:29

c/ms have never needed to have policies in the current EyFS and again in the revised one....as long as you can explain your practice to parents and Ofsted that seems to be enough...all c/ms are different, some like policies some don't, however, for Child Protection it is better to have something in writing...up to you individuals.

BrazenHussy · 05/06/2012 21:47

callmedizzy I was on the revised EYFS course last week and the lady delivering the course was an ex Ofsted inspector and she confirmed that from September inspectors will not be asking to see your P and P's, however you have to be able to explain them if asked. Bloody madness!

I'm due an inspection sometime soon, but I'm certainly not waiting for it, or doing anything different. They can come whenever they like.
