Voucher Payments

Hi,

I'm thinking of employing a nanny but would like to pay them with the vouchers from my pay.

How do I do this?

Do they need to be registered somewhere? If so, how do I get them registered?

Anything else I need to do so that it's all above board?

Many thanks.

I think your nanny would need to be ofsted registered. it costs approx 100 pounds. Hth

I think smile is right, because they asked me as a creche manager what my ofsted reg number was.

They have to register with ofsted. That costs £100 and requires a first aid certificate and CRB check

What country are you in? (Scotland for example is different to England, so really need to know where you are).

Who administers the voucher scheme for your company... it is a big provider, a small one, or does your company do it in-house?

Assuming you are in the UK, your nanny is your employee so you need to operate payroll. More about PAYE on the HMRC Website. From the agreed Gross salary, you deduct employee income tax, employee national insurance, and any other deductions (student loan for example). Then the resulting take home pay would be made up of the voucher amount, plus the rest via cheque/bank transfer.
