who was working with me for one day at a community event? it would only be for one day and we are not left in charge of children, they will be with parent/carers? I have one myself (enhanced)

I don't see why as long as they don't have time alone with the children.

Even then you only CRB check to make your liability insurance valid, I imagine; do you feel a need for liability insurance for this event?

I have insurance anyway , so they are allowed to work without one as they won't be alone with the children? find the rules complicated!

Maybe look at things from the end users point of view... would parents be prepared to use the facility you are providing if staff were not CRB checked?

If you are not ever going to be left alone with children, then is there a need for a check? Not really in my view... though not sure of the legal position.

What is it that you/they will be doing at the community event?

Ofsted check assistants even ones who can't be left alone. It depends what role they'll have, if they're only on a stall then probably not or are they providing care, if so you probably should.
