I have nanny insurance and car insurance through them.

Had to make a claim on the car insurance last year (somebody drove into the back of me and wrote my car off Angry) - but MM are just the brokers/agent and my insurance was with QBE. My claim was ongoing when my insurance was due for renewal so I had to pay a premium with a reduced no claims bonus and claim back the difference in premium when the claim was settled in my favour. The claim was settled in my favour in the October (accident was late April) and it was late February before I got the difference back. MM said this was due to waiting for info from QBE. The lady on the phone at MM was always very polite and explained everything clearly for me.

I once phoned MM's legal line with a query about a potential employment problem and they were very helpful. I felt that if I ever really needed them professionally then they would give a good service.

MM are a broker, so like many insurance brokers they deal with 3rd parties... such as accident management companies. I complained about the accident management company which was used when a minibus went into the back of my car... MM took the complaint seriously and made their best efforts to sort things out - which resulted in me remaining a happy customer. As with nbee84, it wasn't a situation where I was at fault... so was not a claim on my policy but my insurer had to deal with the minibus companies insurer.

It's impossible to know what would happen in the event of a major claim... such as a child being injured and parents claiming against the liability policy. I have confidence that MM would do their utmost to help... but they are not the insurer - Sterling Insurance is the underwriter for some policies, QBE is often an insurer for motor related things, though other insurers may also be used.

MM will resolve things fast if things go wrong during the claim process - they will contact the 3rd parties involved (such as accident management companies) to kick-ass if it's necessary. So as a insurance broker they as far as I am concerned do everything they possibly can to help their client.
