Settling in period. Is a few days ok?

My dd 2.5 will hopefully have either a nursery or childminder by the middle of the coming week. We are visiting several of each over the next two days and hope to make a decision by Tues eve. If she started settling in for a couple of hours Thurs and Fri of this week coming and did a half day the following Mon and Tues would she be ok to leave for a full day by the Thurs of next week? I am starting a new job that day hence the haste. Any advice, own experiences would be very welcome.

Possibly - I don't see why not.

But, in order for that to happen you would probably need to spend as much time there as possible both with her and then, gradually, without her.

You will probably have tears with settling in or not unless your dd is unusual. Pick the best of the lot and then trust them, if they good dd will settle sooner or later.

Don't worry.

Most children settle really quickly. In my experience, the sooner they are left without their parents, the sooner they settle.

It all depends on the child and their past experience.

I agree that it depends on the child,

I have taken children without any settling in if the mums have needed me to and I havent had any problems.

I agree with HSMM. I had a two year old start last month; no settling in at all, no problems. I have observed that children with very laid back parents (the sort who assume everything will be fine and see no need for settling in) are the ones who settle most easily.

To be honest, you probably need the settling in period more than the child!
In sure she'll be fine however short/long it is. In at the deep end, IMO
