i am a newly registered childminder and was wondering when you have your first official OFSTED visit.
i have been told that it is around the 7th month after you have been registered, is this true?

I qualified when my son was just 1 and I'd just had my dd when they called... so it would be 18 months for me!

Think it really depends on how buy Ofsted are in your area - I was reg'd end of May last year and had my inspection mid Dec.

Don't think there's a standardr amount of time.

I got my certificate at the end of June and had my inspection in September so it was about 3 months for me.

I got told at my childminders group that there isn't a set time the computer just tells them who needs inspecting and when. Does that make sense? I'm not sure how true it is though.

Have you tried phoning and asking?
