Childminders WWUD?

Been ask to pick up two children from their home and take to school. Then pick up from school and drop off at home. They will not be going to my house. (Mum will be recovering form treatment)

What would you charge (full fee)?

Do I need to sign contracts?

THis will only be for a short time.

Would this be emergency cm ing?

Comments welcomed.

I would charge full fee.

I would have a contract otherwise if she decided one day not to pay you you wouldn't really have a leg to stand on. NCMA sell short term childminding contracts.

Its not emergency cm ing

Thank you so much for your help.

Could I do my own short term contract? I am with Morton Michel.

You can do your own if your insurance is with mm but not of you're with ncma, would this mean your other children walking a long way or being in the car for ages? And def still full charge.

I'd do this as ad hoc a week at a time, and ask for payment up front. You can use an NCMA (or probabaly MM) short term contract or do your own booking form or short term contract. You absolutely must do a Child Record form with contact details, parental responsibility, emergency arrangements for pickups and any medical history/requirements, though if you do your own forms you could combine it all into one on your booking or contract.

As for fees, these children will count in your numbers (unless they are both over 8) so you may feel you need to charge your usual before/after school rate particularly if you will have to refuse other business which you would have been keen to have. But if it's more a case of doing a favour and you are not desperate to fill your places you can charge whatever you feel is fair. I think I would reduce my fees in these circumstances as apart from anything else I normally include meals.

thanks everyone.

I walk to school. Its on route. They live not too far from the school.

I thinking of doing my own short contract to include the necessary stuff. A lot in my normal contract is not needed. Both are over 8, so not in my numbers.
