Hi. I have 3/4 months left before I go on maternity leave and our nanny has just resigned. Does anyone have any advice on a temp solution.

Many thanks

A temp nanny if you only need 4mths cover - this is the kind of thing I do

Are you going back to work afterwards ?

If so then maybe look at getting a perm nanny and keep her on while you are on ml?

A big exspense but worth it for the continual care for your older child who may feel a bit left out and their life disrupted by old nanny leaving and then new nanny and baby arriving

Thanks Blondes We are concerned about our little one. I plan on having a month at home with her before baby arrives but this has put us in queer street and canot think of another option at the moment but a temp nanny. I don't plan on having further help during my year off, as lo will be at preschool for 3 day as of sept. do you think this would work short term, we are concerned a out it creating behavioural problems. Do you know how easy it is to get temp cover.

if you need help asap then i would advice agencies near you- i work for several of my close ones, tho often am booked up for 2/3/4weeks in advance depending on the job and why they need help

my last position was meant to be 3 weeks and stayed 4 months

agencies are costly but will do the groundwork for you - if you have time then look on

mercator, what are your whereabouts? I can help find some localised agencies to help then :)

What are the hours of care? Perhaps a childminder could provide temporary care - would be at their home, not your home.

In some areas there are pay-as-you-go nurseries.

I'm looking for a temp position

Where are you based?

Is there any way you could have a temp Live in Nanny?
